There are several different character arcs throughout the movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When you look at the arc of a character in various movies, it is very important to consider the difference between a character’s story and its arc. For example, Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes is one of the most famous Marvel characters and Tony Stark’s best friend. He has a very interesting story, going from Iron Man’s military friend to a War Machine. However, Rhodey’s character transformation is not as impressive as other characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, such as Thor or Tony Stark.


Some of the Marvel characters such as Bucky Barnes, Loki, Nebula, and many more have played a significant role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although they have impressed the audiences a lot with their exciting and emotional performances, unfortunately, they have not undergone a substantial personal transformation.

In the film Captain America: Civil War, Bucky Barnes decides to go back under the ice to have enough time to trust his mind because his past life haunts him. He then returns as a hero in the film Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Loki

Loki is one of the famous characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it is portrayed by the actor Tom Hiddleston. He is one of the powerful Asgardians and also known as the “God of Mischief.” Loki has been considered a villain in some of the Marvel movies, but he dies as a hero in the film, Avengers: Infinity War. Loki is a kind of character obsessed with powers and wants to acquire the throne throughout the film Thor: The Dark World. In the first movie, Loki tries to kill Thor, but he sacrifices his life for his brother Thor in his last movie.

Hawkeye

Hawkeye is another brilliant character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is portrayed by the actor Jeremy Renner. Hawkeye/Clint Barton has a very interesting story from being a S.H.I.E.L.D hitman to a mentor, family man, and fugitive in Captain America: Civil War. However, his character arc has undergone huge development in the film Avengers: Age of Ultron, where it is shown that he has a wife and kids.

Hulk

Bruce Banner/Hulk is another most popular character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although he has been through his transformation from his first appearance, Bruce got low at a point. He was also involved in a love story with Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff, but it could not pan out hugely. In the end, Banner changed his perception of Hulk and considered him as a cure.

Spider-Man

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the character arc of Spider-Man is portrayed by the actor Tom Holland as Peter Parker. He appeared for the first time in the film Captain America: Civil War. Later, Tony Stark became his mentor and introduced him to the Avengers Team. The character arc of Peter Parker has developed a lot over the years. Initially, Tony Stark helped him a lot in everything but the film Spider-Man: Far From Home, we have seen Peter dealing with every situation without the help of Iron Man.
